Tanzania and the Comoros enjoy cordial and fraternal retaliations which are reflected by people to people contacts. Leaders of the two countries have been interacting regularly for the purpose of strengthening the ties that bind the two nations.

In March 2009, H.E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania made an historical State Visit in the Union of the Comoros. The visit reinvigorated the already strong ties and paved the way for the establishment of resident Missions on the capitals of both countries.
